On first listen of this CD, I thought of Mogwai. The second time, I did not think of anything since it was mostly background music while I was talking to someone in a car. Yet the third time, I heard a medley of great artists combining for a solid album out of band that was new to me. Among these great artists were Mogwai, Aphex Twin’s Richard D. James, and Nine Inch Nails (more the remix albums). The combination of this acid-punk synth-techno-rock instrumental sound was a treat to the ears and I enjoyed every minute of it. This is one of those albums that once it commences I am actually craving more and not even remotely bored with the songs or sound, as happens with quite a few albums these days. Which brings me to the album’s flaw: it is incomplete and needs an ending. It seems as though once it finishes it leaves the listener hanging to dry with questions unanswered, so to speak. This is not necessarily a major problem, but is still an area that the band could improve upon in the future. Overall, a nice and solid album.
