3 1/2 Tables

Though unreleased, this album of impeccable rap flows by Brooklyn Academy’s own Jean Grae and Little Brother’s own producer Extraordinaire, 9 th Wondra, marks Jean’s first full length LP. Most definitely the best female on the mic since MC was Lyte as a rock, Jean flips nerdy words and rap flows to the world at large touching on topics that range from her unborn children on “Please Forgive Me,” to her love on songs like “He’s My Man,’ which reflects also on her business problems, and “So High, which relates a sexual experience more reminiscent of R&B ballads.

Jean effectively deads the myth of second rate Female MCs, and in fact proves that she might be one of the best doing it right now, male or female. The album is floating around on the Intranet, so if you can find it cop it, the beats are crafted wonderfully and the rhymes are immaculate, however if you can’t, go and cop This Week, the official release of Jean’s work.
