Little is known about the band that calls themselves Prints, except that they are comprised of Kenseth Thibideau and Zac Nelson, with occasional outside help from people such as Emily Joyce. Their debut self-titled release is made up of eight tracks that are lovable, enticing, and fun. They are great to listen to especially as they play on their second track “Too Much Water,” which is probably the most upbeat of the eight. Not only is “Too Much Water” a good indie pop song; when the whistling and hand claps are brought in along with their lyrics “I get dropped from the sky every time / I know I'm swimming out of deep black water” the song becomes complete and anybody listening will feel good afterwards. This band is not just held together by what their lyrics say but also by their two strictly instrumental. On “Meditation” and “End” there is a different ambiance to them, though they are both pretty chill over all.
In general, their style of indie pop rock is easy to listen to, relaxing, and has the feeling of being home, which makes a bit of sense since they recorded and mixed their sounds at home with the exception for their drumming which was done in studio. The rain pours and the cars pass in the background, an acoustic guitar keeps the rhythm and the bass drum taps the beat. Vocals pick up and their song “All We Knead” has started. This song is slower and heavier than the other tracks off their album, and probably is not going to be picked as their best song, but it carries the most substance to it. It is everything that memories are made of.
