Thanks to our brilliant Chief Engineer, Lucas McCallister, we now have a widget that updates automatically on the right side of the page with all of the upcoming meetings and remotes that WIDB will be doing. This will provide an easy way for everyone to stay up to date on the goings-on of the station.
Hello all! It’s finally time for our first official meeting of the year and I could not be more excited. I feel like we have had an amazing turnout during our recruiting remotes during the past couple weeks and I know I speak for the entire staff when I say that I hope that translates into an amazing turnout during our meetings throughout this week.
Our first meeting is on Monday, August 29th at 6 PM, and we will also have a meeting on Wednesday at 6 PM if you are unable to make the Monday meeting time. For all those who are new to the station, I encourage you to visit our “Get Involved” tab at the top of the page and find our station policy manual and membership contract. For those of you who are new, you will be required to pass a simple test proving a basic knowledge of the policy manual and you will have to submit a signed membership contract, and you are more than welcome to bring your own copy of that contract to the first meeting. We will have some manuals and contracts printed up and available during the meetings, but if the turnout is as great as we are hoping, we will probably not have enough for everyone.
I’m so excited for this year, and I, along with the rest of the staff, can’t wait to see everyone at the first meetings this week so we can meet all of you who showed so much interest during the past couple weeks.

Well friends, the summer is finally over and all the students are starting to head back to their respective schools. A lot of local bands I know are cutting back the amount of shows they are playing since most of their members are in college. But this doesn’t mean that music and concerts stop completely. On the contrary, the school year brings many great bands out to college towns and other areas because they know where their audience is (at least where they will be for the next 9 months).
As a radio station… *ahem* a student run radio station, we feel it is necessary to be there to help bands reach their audience and vice versa. In order to do that we have reached out to our good friends at VividSeats.com who have graciously allowed us to peek at their schedule of events in our region and post some of the more important events right here on our homepage. For those of you who love going to see shows, return the favor and check out VivdSeats for your concert tickets. We promise you won’t be disappointed.
Hello returning WIDB’ers! It’s time for another exciting year at the station and I feel like we have big things ahead. Our meeting times for DJs will be Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 PM and our first meeting will take place August 29th on the 4th floor of the Student Center in the Station. You can also check us out Friday August 19th in the University Bookstore during the always fun and exciting Dawgs Nite Out from 7 to 11 PM. We will be teaming up with the bookstore to bring you a dance party and show off awesome Mac products. We will also be at the RSO fair on Thursday August 25th. So we hope to see you at one or all of these events. And I can’t wait to see everyone at the first meeting on the 29th so we can get this year off and rolling.
