Tshirts for Christmas?

Christmas came early for WIDB! Our new marketing materials are here and ready to be shown off. If you’d like to purchase a Tshirt, black with purple logo or an assortment of colors with a white logo stop by the studio on the 4th floor of the student center, or visit any of our remote tables. Sizes range from small to XL and cost only $10!
If you are a WIDB alumni and would like to purchase shirts, please email with your sizes and contact info.

New Logo

While the kissing twins will forever be a WIDB icon (and will make an appearance on a few throwback items from time to time) the current staff of WIDB felt the need to update the station logo to something that better embodies what WIDB is. The logo went through several design variations, staff discussions and ultimately a vote. The logo was created by SIU student Ashley Moreman, and meets all of the requirements set forth by the staff. It will soon be showing up on our website, flyers, apparel and more. Enjoy.

WIDB Talks to Saluki Craft

Saluki Craft Door

The entrance to Saluki Craft, found at:
715 S University Ave Ste 102
Carbondale IL 62901 may be a student-run radio station but Saluki Craft is a student-owned business.

WIDB staff members, Stephanie Wiewel and Sarah Maher, spoke to two of the part-owners of Saluki Craft about how they got their start as well as the experiences that go along with owning a business.  All of this is being done while the four student-owners are still taking classes at SIU.

This summer, Saluki Craft opened on ‘The Island’ in Carbondale.

For more information you can call Saluki Craft at (618) 490-1576, send an email to, or head over to their webpage.

Customers can use the laser cutter owned by Saluki Craft. The laser cutter is the largest in Southern Illinois and has large air compressors to prevent burn marks on the material being cut.

The interior of Saluki Craft was redesigned and reorganized by the new student owners before opening.
